Following the success of our inaugural NWA / Offshore Wind Safety Forum in Lowestoft last year, we are holding the second combined Safety Forum on 6th September at the ERGO Centre on the Humber. Email Mark Ranson to secure your place.
This year’s event will have a particular emphasis on personnel working in the Humber / East Coast offshore areas.
See above for the draft agenda for this combined NWA / Offshore Wind Safety Forum, to be held at the recently opened ERGO Centre at:
Bridgehead Business Park
Meadow Road
Boothferry Road
HESSLE
HU13 0GD
As well as NWA members – both management and practising CTV Masters – we are hoping to see representatives from offshore wind developers, with an emphasis on the site management teams, including Marine Controllers and others with whom our members commonly interact.
As you will see from the attached draft agenda, a couple of speakers from the MCA will give an update on the likely effects of the Revised Workboat Code, which is due to be published soon, together with a specific look at the Carriage of Dangerous Goods (DG).
We intend the event to encourage as much discussion as possible on these and other relevant topics. We will also have our 'Safety Pause' where we ask everyone to put their pens down, and have an 'open hands' discussion of any recent incidents,
To sign up for the event, please send Mark Ranson the names of those who would like to attend, preferably by Friday 31st August. Numbers are limited to approximately 50, so we will accept attendees on a first come / first served basis.
